Applications are now open for The Body Revolts/The Body Aligns exhibition to explore the complex experiences and counteracting the perceptions surrounding queer identity and the daily navigation of queer experiences.

This exploration encompasses the triumphs of queer love and self-acceptance, as well as the arduous journeys of self-discovery and the persistent struggle for mere existence. They invite members of the LGBTQIA+ community to engage in candid conversations and present nuanced depictions of their lived stories through submissions to this online exhibition. The goal of this exhibition is to spark discussions on identity, embodied queer experiences challenging societal norms, and examining the interplay between LGBTQIA+ identity and mind-body dichotomy.

  • Selected works will be featured in both an online exhibition and online/physical publication, fostering a dialogue that extends beyond traditional boundaries. The online platforms strive to be as inclusive and accessible as possible to create a powerful and immersive experience.

Terms and Conditions

  • By submitting your artwork to The Starving Artist for the body revolts / the body aligns exhibition & publication, you agree to the following:
    • The Starving Artist Initiative has permission to use & showcase your artwork for marketing, image use, & publication purposes. They do not sell your artworks or charge for participation. Any funds raised from sales of publications will support The Starving Artist Fund.
    • Image Use: They can feature your work in the exhibition & publication indefinitely unless agreed upon otherwise. They can reproduce & edit images of your artwork for promotional, design & documentation purposes.
    • Publication and Exhibitions: Your artwork may be included in the publication, exhibitions & media publicity. Each artist will receive a digital download, but no monetary compensation will be provided. The Starving Artist is not liable for any harm, loss or damage during any stage of the project process.
