Open Call for Earth Rising addressing the Climate Crisis

Deadline Date: April 12, 2024

Donor Name: Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA)

Grant Size: $1000 to $10,000

The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) is delighted to once again invite applications from interested artists, collectives and community groups through the Open Call.

Earth Rising is a festival of free events and experiences aimed at addressing the climate crisis and inspiring collective action towards a sustainable and hopeful future. Taking place from the 20-22 September 2024, EARTH RISING promises an unforgettable experience that seeks to provoke, inspire, and empower audiences to become agents of change.

Now in its third year, EARTH RISING has proven to be a transformative and impactful experience for participants and audiences alike, laying a foundation for continued engagement and positive change. Last year they welcomed over 16,000 people to IMMA for EARTH RISING and they hope to grow that this year.

Art has always played a powerful role in reflecting and shaping society. In a rapidly changing world, here at IMMA, they understand the role as a space for dialogue and understanding, promoting social progress and cultural innovation in response to contemporary challenges. The climate crisis represents one of the greatest challenges of the time, requiring collective efforts to mitigate its impacts and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

By engaging audiences in creative and thought-provoking ways, IMMA can foster a sense of urgency around the need for environmental stewardship and to connect communities in an increasingly divided world.
