The Varkey Foundation partnered with Chegg.org to launch the Global Student Prize in 2021, a sister award to its $1 million Global Teacher Prize. It is established to create a powerful new platform that shines a light on the efforts of extraordinary students everywhere who, together, are reshaping the world for the better.

Benefits

  • The Chegg.org Global Student Prize is a US$100,000 award presented to an exceptional student, making a real impact on learning, the lives of their peers and on society beyond.
  • The winner shall attend financial counselling sessions provided free-of-charge by VF.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an Applicant must:

  • be at least sixteen (16) years old at time of entry;
  • must currently be a student and enrolled in an academic institution or training and skills program. Part time students as well as students enrolled in online courses are also eligible for the Prize. The Prize is open to students in every kind of school and, subject to local laws, in every country in the world. 
  • not be prohibited from participating in the Contest or receiving the Prize under the applicable law of their country;
  • not, nor any connected person of an Applicant, have a criminal record;
  • not, nor any connected person of an Applicant, have conducted themselves (by act or omission) in such a way as to bring the teaching profession, VF, its affiliates, any GEMS Education group company, or their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, and subsidiaries (“VF Parties”) or Chegg into disrepute or to have been adversely prejudicial to the interests of any of them (as may be determined at the sole discretion of VF);
