Readymag is seeking applications for the ReadyLaunch Grant, tailored to kickstart or fully launch small, executable projects in the design community.

In alignment with the values and mission of Designing Women, the ReadyLaunch Grant is the initiative to bridge the gender gap in the design industry. This grant is an extension of the commitment to elevate the voices of female-identifying, non-binary and other persons affected by gender-related issues in the realm of design, echoing the ethos of Readymag itself.

It embodies the dedication to:

• Support underrepresented designers.
• Encourage resource and knowledge sharing.
• Inspire creativity and innovation in design projects.

Grant Details

• 4 fellowships, $2000 each.
• One-year access to a Female Design Council membership.
• A place in the Female Design Council Mentor Match Program.
• Assistance in media coverage (depending on project nature).
• Note: The Female Design Council is a design leadership organization dedicated to providing a strong community for all women, irrespective of color, race, gender, or sexual identity, in the fields of design, architecture, and applied arts. The FDC’s mission is to advocate for equity and tangible gender parity in the design industries, motivate collective action and provide access to professional opportunities for female-identified creatives.

What kind of projects are you looking for?

• They want to see unique, small-to-medium scale media and communication projects where design plays a key role, whether through outstanding execution or as a central subject of the project itself. Ideal projects should be feasible within a reasonable timeframe and can range from websites and mini-exhibitions to zines or poster series. If your work aligns with Readymag’s vision of fostering creativity and pushing design boundaries, you’re on the right track. Whether it’s an ongoing effort or a fresh idea, they’re interested in what you’re passionate about bringing to life.

Projects Profile

• Whether you’re dreaming up a newsletter, a zine (digital or print – you name it), starting a YouTube channel, launching a podcast, or any other media project with a focus on design, they’re here to help. You can use the grant to fund your work, pay your team, rent necessary spaces, get the right production services, sign up for essential subscriptions, or even get the training or advice you need to make your project shine. They believe in your vision and know you’ll put these funds to good use.
• They seek ideas that push design boundaries and align with the values of Designing Women and Readymag.

Who can apply for this grant?

• You’re eligible if you’re over 18 years old and involved in design in any capacity. This grant is especially aimed at supporting female-identifying, non-binary and other individuals affected by gender-related issues in the realm of design.
• This includes, but is not limited to, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color), migrants, refugees, people with disabilities, and individuals who have been impacted by systemic oppression.
